Why I volunteer…

“Volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters is a deeply meaningful experience for me, as it reflects both my personal values and my own journey as a parent. As a mother, I witnessed the profound impact that mentoring had on my son when he had a Big Brother. The bond they shared helped shape him into a more confident and well-rounded individual, and I was inspired to pay it forward. I became a Big Sister to offer the same support and guidance to a young person in need.

What motivates me is the opportunity to provide a positive, consistent influence in someone’s life—especially when circumstances might make them feel overlooked or misunderstood. I know firsthand how transformative the power of mentorship can be, and I want to help create those same positive experiences for others. It’s an incredibly fulfilling experience to see a child grow and thrive with a little extra encouragement, and in return, I’ve gained so much from the relationships I’ve built through this program.

Being a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters allows me to give back, support the next generation, and foster a sense of community and connection. It’s a way for me to continue the legacy of mentorship that impacted my own family”.
